We will join Marine Zoologist and Environmental Scientist, Mona McCrea on Sandycove beach at low tide to learn about the rich marine life found on our doorstep. Mona will explain to everyone what we are going to do, safety and a bit about workings of the tides. Then, with the help of a scavenger hunt we all go down to the waters edge and work together to find the plants and animals on the sea shore.
This activity is for children aged 5+. Younger siblings are welcome but are to supervised by their parents/carers at the top of the shore or down on the lower shore with the group. Although siblings will not be part of the group, Mona will try and include them as much as possible and show them all the interesting animals that are found.
