Meet the team

Families Go Global was founded by Bee Sykes, an outdoorsy mum of 3 young active girls.

In 2013, Bee helped build and managed an independent community, exclusive to families of a large multinational company based in Dublin. But soon decided to expand her offering to create a unique social network that serves ALL families on a wider scale, and so Families Go Global was born, in 2015.

The Families Go Global team has expanded to many dedicated mothers who are all passionate about helping families settle having experienced relocations themselves.

What Members Say

Steffi – From Germany

“My world changed today significantly as I joined the FGG group where I asked for opinions and recommendations related to my move. Within few hours I received so many valuable hints, recommendations and opinions that I feel now have the “full picture“ and not only the theory which I could read in the internet and the “far from earth“ recommendations of our relocation company.

I can’t see a more efficient way to collect information and people’s opinions.”

Thanks to all organizers and users who play an active role!!”

Julie – From Portugal

“We are a Portuguese family of three and we found wonderful support and advice in FGG. We were able to meet families from everywhere and we could share our experiences and do plenty of activities together.

It’s so good to not feel isolated when you are an expat family. Many thanks Families Go Global.”

Aline – From Brazil

“Esther ‘Bee’ Sykes has been of great help to my family since we were still in Brazil. Because of the “FGG tips of the day”, we got to know the importance of having a PPS number and how to apply for it. From this information we carefully planned all our initial steps in the Republic of Ireland, which was crucial to getting our first jobs here and to enrolling our daughter in primary school.

Every time I asked her for help on any subject, she has promptly replied with patience and dedication and posted all relevant information on the topic so that all FGG members could avail of her personal experience and of useful links. My family have been living in Ireland for six months now and our next step is to buy a home – a topic that was also brought up by Ms Sykes on the FGG group.

I would definitely apply for a membership to keep on availing of the many tips, meet-ups and discounts offered by Families Go Global.”

Chasity – From Texas

“Families Go Global has become a crucial part of my life.  Having moved overseas, I left everyone and everything I knew behind.  In FGG I have found a great support group that I was easily integrated into.

Without Bee’s desire and determination to make this group a reality, many of us would be just sitting at home very lonely and struggling to adapt.

Thank you Esther for making the journey more enjoyable.”
